It is the NEW FABULOUS party IDEA.

Scratch Patch Parties are original, organic, beautiful, natural, educational, and playful for kids of all ages. The children will not forget this experience, and they will be enchanted by the beauty of the earth and its gifts. Children take home a bag of stones, balloons, a gift, and healthy snack bag.

Parties can be booked on Fridays 10am-11am, 5-6pm, 6-7pm, 7-8pm

The Scratch Patch offers the following birthday party:

Party games and activities:

Children arrive at the Scratch Patch; they take off their shoes, and find a comfortable place within the stones. (It's like sitting on a rainbow) The Scratch Patch staff starts the party with a treasure hunt game. Depending on the age of the children 5 to 10 different kinds of stones are shown then kids go on a "treasure hunt". Lots of help and clues are given.

After the "treasure hunt" is over there are two more games. Then the children get to sit in the stones, relax, play, and select their favorite stones to fill their individual bags, which they take home with them. No food is allowed in the Scratch Patch, but upon leaving each child also receives a snack bag, balloon, and one gift from the Scratch Patch owners. This will be a party that will be remembered!!! Make sure to bring your camera to capture this unique adventure.

How to book a Party

Field trips and birthday parties are held when the Scratch Patch is closed to the public. You need to make an appointment if you want to schedule a fieldtrip or birthday party.

What do I do about the Birthday Cake?

Normally Mom’s just bring individually packed cupcakes that they hand out to the kids as they leave.... OR during the summer kids go to nearby Green Lake to have a picnic. Around Green Lake or on Roosevelt Ave are many kid friendly restaurants and ice cream places.

In the winter you have 2 options...either Whole foods about 6 blocks from us, which has a huge eating area and great small cupcakes that you can buy there (so no need to plan ahead) or Trophy Cupcakes if you do a morning party (they are about a 5 minute drive from us in the old Wallingford School building with indoor sitting area ) There is also a Trophy cupcakes place at University Village, but they only have outside chairs....so no good for Seattle weather in fall and winter.

I suggest carpooling to nearby Whole Foods, Trophy Cupcakes, or bringing your own cupcakes to hand out after the party or going to someone's house afterwards for cake or pizza.

The Scratch Patch does give each child a little snack bag, which contains a bag of bite size chocolate chip cookies, a bag of bite size cheese crackers, and a fruit juice ... all organic.

The kid's hands are very full when they leave because they carry the balloon, their bag of rocks, a snack bag, and their little gift (which is normally a mood ring that also glows in the dark). So if you don’t feel like doing the cupcakes, the kids do feel as if they are getting a lot of stuff. You always have the option of handing out individually wrapped cupcakes as the children leave.

The reason why we do not have cake at the Scratch Patch is because if it crumbles in the rocks, it is impossible to clean. One day, hopefully, if the business does well, I would love to add an extra “party room”, that will be absolutely fantastic.
